Simple Squares is a blend of classic platforming with worker placement mechanics, boiled down to its most base elements. Starting as the smallest block possible, you must optimize your route through the levels, grabbing the best blocks and upgrades and finding the most direct path to the final objective to get the best times.
Taking control of the blue workers and moving them to better positions opens new paths to explore and helps you shave off those seconds of time.Even the largest of objectives can be destroyed with patience but the real puzzle is in how to get through them the quickest.And should you want to make your own levels, the level editor is there to let you do just that. You can play your own levels and share them with friends. Getting in a lobby with some friends will even allow you all to go head to head in your own levels in the Group Challenge mode. To those that aren't a fan of the CRT effect, don't worry! it is a toggleable option in the settings menu.
